We are a community targeting phpBB mod authors (modders). Our primary aim as a website and community is to be a home for modders. We will try to encourage discussion/participation, inform modders on how to modify phpBB and how to create better and safer modifications as well as being a place of social gathering for those who share a similar interest in phpbb and its modification.
Talk about anything modification related going on in the phpBB World, be it phpBB’s development or new concepts or ideas you have that you wish to get some feedback on. At ’modders (short for phpbbmodders.net) you can find the opinions of other modders who can help you (note: we’re not assisting with the help of specific websites).
We encourage friendly chitter-chatter (to a certain extent) as it’s good for the soul. You can also find modders with similar ideas as you who you can team up with and make modifications together.
Our extensive knowledge base, filled with a variety of important articles for mod authors, will improve your coding by teaching you new techniques, correcting bad coding habits and showing you how to start from the real basics of modification writing. More advanced questions or feedback may also be asked to the community where other modders can assist you. Upload your code snippets, modifications and ideas for feedback from your fellow modders. They can help you simplify, secure and improve your code.
Another benefit is you’re not looking to provide support for your mod (note: we are not a support site), you will simply upload it to be distributed to the community who will install and test the mod, read through your coding and then report back with feedback as well as possible bug fixes.
Our friendly and experienced community can offer assistance in helping modders, as well as being a place of discussion and sharing. The simple structure makes it easy to browse and search. For the more experienced there’s a chance to meet more mod authors and possibly find another user who might be interested in assisting you in making a larger scale modification or to find ideas for new modifications.
Our more experienced members have submitted articles in the knowledge base to help less experienced modders to build specific features, use certain parts of phpBB and improve coding technique. Worth a read even for the experienced modders.
Various scripts set to assist mod authors creating their mods can be found in this section. The modx validator can be used to make sure your xml is valid, pastebin allows you to store temporary code, the hash generator is for generating password hashes if needed for testing purposes and you can use the MODX Creator to generate an automod compatible installation file.
We have trackers for our website, our MODs and our libraries. Each section contains a bug tracker, a feature tracker and an issue tracker. If you find any bugs or have a feature suggestion for any of them then that is the place for you. (Note: The MODs tracker is only for our official MODs.)
As a laid-back team we try not to hand out bans and warnings constantly so try to keep the rules in mind else we might have to slap somebody (you).
The contact form is always accessible if you have any problems with the site. As soon as possible, one of the team will reply to your query and assist you where appropriate. This is only for site-related questions.
