Suggestion: Option for 'Enter' to send the message

Hi Rich,

Liking the larger, improved text box in the latest version of mChat. However, most of my users, and myself, type in pretty short messages into the chat box. Usually, you're not typing separate paragraphs, and of course, to use that dreaded analogy... folks are quite used to hitting enter into Facebook, and that is part of what makes such chat very speedy and instant-feeling.

I was wondering, would it be possible to have an ACP setting where we could choose if we want 'Enter' to do the sending, or not? I would choose to have it, because the vast majority of people are not being verbose in mChat.

I would think they are more than likely used to Shift+Enter by now from using Facebook, if they wish to separate sentences.

Thanks,

Anton

So I just noticed the UCP setting, 'Input Mode' or 'TextArea Mode', and I guess that Input Mode is still driven by the Enter button? (wasn't able to set it, as during the upgrade I didn't run the SQL script to create that new field).

If I run that script, presumably it will only create that new field, and leave all other database entries for mchat as they are?

It will add what is missing and leave others alone.
