Mod for your calendar feature
Hello -
Do you have a MOD for your calendar feature? I'm looking for an event calendar and am interested in the Calendar phpBB Modders has on this forum.
Thank you - Rose

Re: Mod for your calendar feature
No, not really AFAIK. But if we get enough free time we might convert it to a MOD.

Damn.. It would be great to have something like that (even as a "here it is, no support, good luck thing"). As the Aligtner mod is abd (and has lots of things that i don't need and doesnt have things i do need on it.).
A well, I think it's time to learn to code for my self then.

Re: Mod for your calendar feature
I already know the answer as I've asked before.
I have tested MANY calendars. Some interfere with other parts of my board and I just tested one today that pulls 25+ queries PER USER LOGGED ON. It was a nice one until I saw that.
Hopefully you will release your calendar in the near future. I run a small town board and events are a big part of the board. When I had one good calendar running, it was quite popular but like I said it interfered with some other items.
Rich, hopefully you find the time to MODX it or are willing to supply the docs to install your calendar soon.
I'll keep searching though. There are plenty of calendars out there but their too much work to make them look like part of the board.
Thanks guys.

Re: Mod for your calendar feature
The calendar here was built into the site, it would take a lot of work to separate it from the SITES code and make it standalone. Right now Rich won't be able to do much for as far as I understand for the immediate far future(real life snuck up on him). Tumba25 is busy with regular paying work and I'm not a coder. Unless someone steps up to the plate and Tubma25 and Rich accepts them onto our MOD Team, it isn't likely to happen any time soon.
Re: Mod for your calendar feature
I appreciate your honesty. I know Rich works and has family and a busy site to maintain as well as .com issues to tend with.
I'll keep hunting until I find what I'm looking for. I'll probably end up using another database but interweave a calendar into my site somehow.
Again, thanks for the great response.

Re: Mod for your calendar feature
We are trying to get some free time at the end of February/in Mars to turn this thing into a validated MOD.

Re: Mod for your calendar feature
Me three. I do understand though Tumba.
I'll trade you. Icons, remember?
I'm slow though (perfectionist).
But again, I do understand the time constraints. I'm a retired fart. I do a lot of photos and graphics for other sites and get paid whatever (local town folks). I make more on "pay me whatever" than I do billing.
I do know of another graphic artist whom is outstanding. I can send her your way if need be.

Re: Mod for your calendar feature
Sorry, I totally forgot this thing. I'll try to get cracking on this within a week.
I'll update this topic when and if there is any progress. There will be a public repo at github, link comes later. I trust that you will beta test it.
Sure do, throw in a smiley and it's a deal.VoxPopuli wrote:I'll trade you. Icons, remember?

I beta all the time. I'm set up for it.
Now, smilies I don't do. I'll PM you the name of the other graphic artist when I track her down. She's the best.
