In phpBB 3.1.x, the new extensions system uses the folder to store extension files. A vendor subfolder can be used for users or usergroups. Will we have a vendor folder and similar namespace? In my opinion, such a thing would reboost this site's popularity, as people can see that people from this place have made such an extension.

One slight "problem" that might be considered, is who may use such namespace. Are we going to let any one use the name as they see fit? Should we put copyleft claims on it, so that the name cannot be hijacked?

Are we even going to make collective extensions for 3.1.x?

The namespace should always reference who(whether a user or group) released the extension. Assuming phpBBModders continues(really up to tumba25) it should only be used by those who are affiliated with phpBBModders and who obviously have access to our Github repos: https://github.com/phpbbmodders If the extension isn't affiliated with us, allowing others to use it(our namespace) would be bad, because first of all extensions will still get submitted to the CDB at .com and people shouldn't be trying to submit extensions as us(should be done via our account: https://www.phpbb.com/community/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1426856 with the specific extension writers being added as co-authors). Second of all if people did that and they were crap, it would be our reputation at hand and not some random fly-by-night extension writer. And yes the account is newish(as I accidentally deleted it while killing old spam accounts). (fixed)

Yes. that namespace/vendor name is ours. The only extensions allowed to use that is phpBB Modders official stuff. The vendor name is supposed to reflect the user name of the extension and we are the only ones with that name. Those extensions needs to be submitted by the user phpbbmodders.net with the rest of the team as co authors.

And, yes, we are going to make collective extensions for 3.1.x.First upgrade the existing 3.0 MODs to 3.1 extensions. And then look at eventual new extensions.
