Report a post module

Postby Potku » 06 Oct 2014, 06:05

Modules is the one tab in ACP with which I am not too familiar. From the get-go, we disabled the Friend/Foe module. Other than that, no one has really done anything with the modules.

I cannot remember how we did it, but the Report a post function is not visible anywhere except in the Moderators' forum. It, of course, is not needed there. :D But it has been there just so that the moderators could test it, if need be. However, we (admins and moderators) are now toying with idea of enabling that function in all forums for our users. This is where we would need your help.

How exactly would we enable Report a post in all forums? Can it be done in a batch or should it be implemented forum by forum AND usergroup by usergroup?

In any case, I ran into something interesting while testing that just now. All of our moderators are Global Moderators. That is my default group, as well, although I have admin privileges. I enabled Report a Post in one forum (for testing purposes) for Global Moderators. I do not see it there, though, when I browse the posts in that forum. Actually, it was already enabled for Global Moderators, as that group has access to all functions in all forums (we are a tight group). What am I not understanding here?

Reporting a post is a forum permission that is set by group. Only way I can think of is if a user is a member of another group that has the permission set to never which will override the permission for that user for other groups that they are a member of.
