mChat and Ascraeus

Postby shortmort37 » 01 Nov 2014, 21:12

I know *nothing* about 3.1 (Ascraeus) - and, if mods can be installed as "extensions". If I upgrade to Ascraeus, will I lose mChat? Or, can I install the current version?

Is an mChat extension for 3.1 forthcoming?

I have decided that I probably will not be porting mchat to 3.1. It's too much effort for too little gain. The Add User mod will be the last mod I port to an extension which I am currently working on.

Please don't speak like that! mChat is the best phpBB modification I have ever used and I hope that you'll be developing phpBB 3.1 extension. :!:

Hi, my phorum at schizofrenia evot org in polish language is devoted to this owfull disrease. We have some 5000 registrations, but four times as much are reading it. mChat appeared to be quite importand. I doubt if i ever upgrade to ascraeus 3.1 phpbb without mChat. The phpbb team decision to limit allowed software modification to some well defined modules only (s.c extensions) was not good. A lot of software will be missing, which are hard or impossible to adjust to the new philosophy.

Does anobody know if we could possibly help RMcGirr and switch to an extension with mChat ?

Hello,
I updated my forum locally, added the Stoker and RmcGirr83 extensions.
I'm waiting for mChat to put it online :*
