Google complains users click on their own ads. Of course, their ad program is cheap: I make under 200 dollars a month with Google ads shown 501 344 times in February, for instance, with 1 193 clicks, on all my sites.

What bugs me is there's no way to communicate with Google, they just say your account is closed and point you to a vague webpage, no reason or explanation of what is the trouble, you can contest the closure once and that's it but without knowing this issue what can you do.
Terrible service IMO

Just post useful contents and the traffic flow will follow.

How does this relate to a discussion board? Users create content, but if there are few users, there will be no content worth discussing.

The answer is on your screen.
Create an addon for phpbb just like rich has.
Most ppl open a warez section thinking that will help but there is so much out there for free (no donating) even that idea is now dead

Content is King....
I get about $300+ Australian dollars per year for Google Adsense. Just don't click your own ads.
Been running close to 2 years with no issues.

No its not, you set it up and leave it to do its thing. Then Google contact you to say your account has been cancelled as you get close to a payout with no explanation and no way to find out why or address the issue. Happened to me happened to 1000's of others, they are shocking they are uncontactable, the muppets even send me emails telling me about new adsense features.
Never clicked on my ad's myself and could not see any issues with my site either in terms of their T&C's, neither could their community members on their forum

Shite happens. The biggest problem is how to convert traffic to earnings. If you place ads at visitors' eye level, they will hate your guts. If the ads are out of sight, you won't make any money. I have different options for registered and unregistered users.

Content, plus robot.txt and some other settings need to be properly done.
