Does anyone now if the final version will come soon, or are there more RC to come?
Then i wonder, maybe Evil can answer this, when you updraded from bb2 to bb3 at this board, did you have many problems then?

The reason i wonder are seens so many at phpbb.com having alot of problem upgrading, i dont now if i want to upgrade as mess up my board.

Just updated this board to RC3. It seems the final version is very close, there's no guarantee of course. There are of course still 160 unclosed bugs in the [url=http://www.phpbb.com/bugs/phpbb3/tickets.php]bug tracker[/url], but i expect it this year. Allthough i must say that this is not in any way official, it's just speculation.

When we upgraded from phpBB2 we didn't really have any problems. Once the upgrade was done it was all fine. What makes you think they had problems at phpBB.com?

No not the crew of phpbb.com but many users have made posts there telling about that users have gone missing when they have upgraded from bb2 to bb3, also that passwords and stuff like that has gone missing or not been working after upgrading.

Is it eayse to upgrade from bb2 to bb3 or is it dificult?
Now when the RC3 has come, its not the final, but is it safe enough to use it live?

I was sad to see another RC. I think it' should go gold soon tho considering how fast the RC was ready

bbrian017, there are still 160+ unclosed bugs in the bug tracker. I think they will be fixing these, and every time they fix something very important (be it a security problem or not), there will be another RC. This is because they have responsibility to the community who is using their software live. Also if it means a lot of upgrading, at least it keeps the board secure. As long as you always upgrade.

I don't think they should rush a gold release, we do not want buggy software

Morris, i've not had any problems at all, but i'm also quite experienced with phpBB. But it's very easy, really. Just make sure you test it first very very well, before converting your board totally.

They had problem with MySQL < 5, but they fixed it and updated the packages. Just download it, it's safe

I live in sweden, here we have caracters like åäö, i did i test convert of my old forum to see how it would work.
But now all of the caracters å ä ö from the bb2 board are gone on the bb3 board.

How do i fix this?
I hope its allright to aske this question here.

Hmm i don't know very much about charsets, perhaps it's better to ask in the phpBB.com support forums, they can give you official support

Well i asked the support at phpbb.com and there are no solution that really works for 100%.
For some it works and for others not.

I dont think that anyone takes this question seriousness, seens its just a little group that uses werd characters.
But we will se in the future.
