New to PHPBB

Hi Everyone,

I am new to PHPBB and I am just trying to recreate this website for the sake of learning all the mods and how to customize them. I have the board up, but I dont understand how to add the link at the top for navagation or a news panel as the home page. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
