How soon will you upgrade?

Just curious as to how quickly you expect to upgrade to phpBB3 / Olympus once it's released?

I won't be upgrading most of my own boards..

too much mods/alterations/functions
For some boards I think I'll install olympus next to phpbb2..

I'ld say probably a quarter of a year ... but probably not on all boards i make / run ... i actually quite like phpbb2

I aggree with noobarmy, a quarter year sounds reasonable to me. You have enough time to learn the code until then, so you can update your MODs yourself

I won't be upgrading many of my sites when it comes out. In fact i still might be using phpBB2 for any sites that i need to build around phpBB when phpBB3 comes out.

I'll certainly play and check out the code on my sandbox however.

Well, I voted "1 year" but it's entirely possible that I will be in the same situation as MarkTheDaemon, I have several sites that are build around the phpBB2 core and updating those will be a lengthly process, for no real advantage.

I wont be using it until it's long been out. It took until version 17 of phpbb2 before I even thought of trying it.
Let it be out a while so security issues and such are dealt with.

I'll upgrade to PHPBB3 once the mods that I can't upgrade myself become available for it.

Personally I will upgrade my site I use for support my MOD pretty quickly, within a two week timeframe I would guess. My main site (6000+ users, 300,000+ posts) I will take much more time over. Since we have MODs I did not right..i would imagine it will be 3-6 months before that site makes the move, but there are features we are looking forward to.

I also run locally a CVS and B2 copies to allow me prepare my MOD to make the move.
