Back on phpBB.com, same questions are being asked over and over again:
How do I install this thing?
How do I remove AdSense from my free forum?
Does Attachment MOD work with 2.0.4?
I want this feature IPB has...
Who ate my cookies?
Let's admit it: the built-in search facility doesn't work. Even the most advanced users have problems getting answers for their questions.
I decided phpBB knowledge should be more accessible. So I started the phpBB wiki. It doesn't offer much content yet, but it's yours (and, hopefully, soon to be everybody's) to change.

There's a sticky at phpBB.com about the search not working with common keywords. It's just not healthy for the server. Sadly.
The kb search works pretty well, but it isn't even needed. I mean there aren't THAT many articles there. Another great source for "kb" stuff can be found at phpbbstyles.com. Not to compare you to it, as they are two totally differen't systems, but more showing you what exists.
And i must say, the MOD search works too, i use it all the time, and it's great!
Good luck with your project though! Content is the key!

well generally my searchs at phpBB are fine, they will generally be on support questions where i've forgotten the answer for a problem. Then i search for mods with teh mod search and then if all else fails use google!
also how does your thing update? do you need to manually do it, if so imo i would use google
