New user activation rule

Postby Obsidian » 04 Jul 2009, 02:37

Hello all.

As part of the phpBBModders overhaul, one of the things we are doing is cleaning up the memberlist of spambots and such.
As the site uses user email activation, there is a bit of a backlog here of users that have not activated. Regarding this backlog, there is going to be a change in policy.

Effective immediately, any user that has not activated will have 2 (two) weeks to activate before the inactive account is at risk of being deleted from the board.

Any currently inactive accounts that are awaiting user activation will be sent a reminder email to activate them shortly after the posting of this topic. From that point on, the inactive account has two weeks before we remove the account from the board.

If you receive a reminder email to activate your account, please don't panic! Just activate your account if you want it registered. If not, just wait out the two week period and it will be removed.
