Great to be back!
I have been on both the old sites, only now found this new combined one. Cool I'm not a MOD writer, more a MOD modder if that makes any sense to anyone :wasntme: Anyway, great to be here. I have a question on the troll MOD that evil3 made from 2.0 code which I'll look around the site where to post t...

Mchat freezes, have to refresh the page
I've searched and can't seem to find any other posts with this problem. The Mchat screen will freeze randomly, mostly happens with people on dialup or chatting from a smart phone although I've experienced it myself on high speed. Can anyone offer a place to start looking why this is happening? Great...

Re: Refreshes every 30 seconds ?
I see, thanks for explaining that Rich.
This is probably a dumb question sorry, I'm learning and there is a lot to learn.
Is there any way this code could be incorporated to update active users in the chat window, more real time rather than the "timeout" period I have set at 10 minutes?

Refreshes every 30 seconds ?
What does this code do? <td class="row1" width="100%"><div id="mChatStats" class="mChatStats"><!-- IF MCHAT_USERS_LIST --><a href="#" onclick="mChat.toggle('UserList'); return false;">{MCHAT_USERS_COUNT}</a><!-- ELSE -->{MCHAT_USERS_COUNT}<...

Re: My Site Crashed and I Can't Restore
Sorry, I didn't mean to preach.
I looked at your link.
I believe you have a problem in the overall_header.html file around line 201.
I'm a bit of a novice still but take a look there first or try replacing overall_header.html with your backup.
That might get your forum back up for now.

Re: My Site Crashed and I Can't Restore
Whenever I run into a problem like this I step back through everything I've done. Like the guys say, check and double check all your edits are done properly . From what I remember the portal install requires ALOT of edits. Printing the install file helps to follow along and cross them off as you do ...

Re: Place users in chat header
Found it. {MCHAT_INDEX_USERS_LIST} will display the user names currently in chat <h5 style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;cursor:pointer;"> <a class="cp_left" href="{U_MCHAT}#mChat"><img src="{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_mini_groups.gif" width="12" h...

Re: Some style edits for chat page
If you look at my first post the second picture (forumlist) has the look I wanted. Basically I looked at forumlist_body.html and copied the style codes where needed to mchat_body.html I've only been stumbling my way through this stuff for a year or so off an on but if you post a link to your site an...

Re: Place users in chat header
Rich, I think you asked what I did to display a number so I'm pasting the edit I made to my overall_header.html <h5 style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;cursor:pointer;"> <a class="cp_left" href="{U_MCHAT}#mChat"><img src="{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_mini_groups.g...

You da man Rich! That did it.
(I removed the functions edits like you said to do for the hook, don't know how I missed that)

Re: Place users in chat header
Sorry I might have caused some confusion so let's back up please. Firstly, my functions.php doesn't have that find. This is the only reference to mchat in includes/functions.php. // BEGIN mChat Mod 'U_MCHAT' => $auth->acl_get('u_mchat_view') && $mchat_custom_page ? append_sid("{$phpbb_r...

Can you tell me what I should edit please.
