If you manually edit them, you'll then have to use the automatic updater files to go between releases. That will mean you'll have to manually merge files that where changed. Instead you should really be doing things using Extensions.

What about donors? No longer the case and I believe, Tumba25 would know better than I, that all stuff that was in the old donor forum is now available to everyone. Link :D? I believe it was merged with our [url=http://phpbbmodders.net/board/viewforum.php?f=125]Modders MOD support[/url] forum.

The namespace should always reference who(whether a user or group) released the extension.
