All you really need to do is find out weather yours is a prosilver based or subsilver based.

If its prosilver you copy the mcat_prosilver.css file and then rename it: mcat_{YOUR STYLE NAME}.css

If its subsilver copy mchat_subsilver2.css file and rename it mchat_{YOUR STYLE NAME}.css

Then go in to your new file and edit it to match your current style. I would suggest if you have firefox to use firebug. Its an effective tool for this.
