mChat, Primetime & index page

One way I did it was add the mchat code inbetween the cms code inside index.php

Find
// display blocks
$blocks->display();

After add
mchat code that normally goes to index.php

Then maybe to get the shoutbox to show up at the bottom of page, is add the Mchat html code in your_template/cms/cms_footer.html

Do note that this will make the shoutbox show up in just about every page of the cms.

This is what I did since i did not really want the shoutbox to be inside another box/module etc.

Thanks for the answer, Pete! The idea of modifying cms_layout.html was great, now the shoutbox works on the index page. However, it is displayed under EACH article, what looks quite funny . I would love to put it into a new custom block, do you have any idea how to achieve this?
