phpBB question or not ? favicon.ico

I don't know if this goes in here or if I could have asked it in chat.
However I noticed that this site has a custom icon when adding it to your favorites , and allso when I load the page. How is this done in the phpBB's index.php ?
I googled around and found some tips on how to do it on a regular web server running html , but I have no clue to where to put it on a phpBB server. I got a 16x16 pixels image ready , but it's no way I can get it to work. Purged cashe ans stuff but the silly IE icon decided to stay :S
Any help on this would be apreaciated.

try clearing your web browser cache and restarting your web browser favicon.ico can take time to cache,also make sure the image is located in the root of your forum ,where your config.php files are etc.

is this your favicon.ico ? ive never needed to added any html to get the favicon.ico to show ,but that would go above the </head> tag in your overall_header.html file found in your style/template/ folder
what web browser you using
