Scammer claiming to be a phpBB developer

I'm also receiving them on my forum email address, which isn't even listed anywhere on my forum, that is visible to Guests.
I don't register anywhere with my forum email.
So figure that one out.

I've gotten some of these as well. Didn't know what to think of them. I thought it was odd that it was asking about 3.0.8 when phpbb is at v3.0.11 now

You think emails are bad? Back in March I had a email, 3days later I had a phone call on my mobile all about my phpbb being compramised. I asked how he knew he said he worked for microsoft and their system had picked it up. I thanked him for his concern and thank mr gates too only problem is I don't have a phpbb and he hung up.
A week later he phoned again this tine he told me he is going to void my window 7 as I'm beibg uncorropative I told him to carry on and hung up on him. He phoned me straight back with lots of verbal abuse I told him do you honestly believe the inet fraud squad use win8? He then hung up on me. I wonder why? Lol

Odd!..I Never got an email like that before. I've been using different platforms..Just went back to phpbb 3.12 about 1 week ago. Why would this be? What does that "send Statistics" do after a fresh install?
I just find it odd is all..
