Opinions please

Hi,

I would like to install 2 Mods, one for inserting my own message when I disable the board and one for disabling registrations. I've searched and found some but I would like to get some feedback from users who have such Mods installed on a ver. 2.0.22 Board.

I use [url=http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=503164]Page Permissions[/url]. It would allow you to do both. Plus when you disable the pages you can still (as the admin) use the board, for testing or whatnot. Plus, I wrote it.

Seriously, I think it's a real light-weight MOD, meaning it doesn't require you to change a lot of standard phpBB code for the amount of flexibility and power it gives you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or in the topic I linked at phpbb.com.

Yeah you can use the [url=http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=171221]Disable Board Message[/url] and [url=http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=302909]Admins can Use a Disabled Board[/url] so that even if the board is disabled Admins can use it....

And for disabling registrations I would suggest an eay way is to add * to your disallowed name list..... And when you want to allow registrations again remove * from the Disallowed name list... No need of any separate MOD for this

I installed the following for Disable Message and Admin Override and everything works great:
