Hello, im using PHP2 and im just hoping you can give me some info on PHP3? Is it worth upgrading my forum to this verson? If i do will i lose all my modifications on my board are not?

Hi,

phpBB3 is the new generation of phpBB3, the coding is very very very much better. Not only does it have more features, but it's also faster, more secure. If you want a feature list for phpBB3, look here: http://area51.phpbb.com/docs/features.html.

Now, if you upgrade, you will lose all your MODs. phpBB2 MODs will not work on phpBB3, and vice versa, since phpBB3 is a complete rewrite of phpBB2. It's also been in development for over 5 years now. Many MODs for phpBB2 have been created for phpBB3 already though, so if you have all MODs you need, it's definateley worth it. And a few MODs for phpbb2 are now included as core features, such as subforums and usergroup colours.

Yeah, like eviL<3 said.

You can't go wrong upgrading to phpBB3. It has awesome features and looks to me that it runs faster/smoother.
