phpBB 3.0.3: template fallbacks

One of the major things coming in phpBB 3.0.3 will be a new feature: template fallbacks. I'll just point you to this blog post by Henry (kellanved) who is development team member:

Great ! Very nice feature. It's very tedious to merge the changes to all derived templates ...

Very nice, this will certainly help out when creating styles.
The only thing more me left to do would be adding the overall_header, footer and some css.
Great stuff.

Second thing, on one of the images Henry provided, I saw a styleswitcher.js.
Is that also something new? Or just something Henry has implemented?

The style switching code is not used. But there is some more js in there, for example for changing the font size. I remember Highway of Life using the styleswitcher code once though, he used it in the ACP for switching between subsilver and prosilver ACP css.
