phpBB 2.x still around???

One of the forums that I frequent still uses phpBB 2.x... but because of the number of mods that they use which they have not found on phpBB 3, they will not upgrade.

Do you guys think there are a lot of these 2.x boards out there still? Know of any yourself?

I know a couple of them. Most of them refuse to upgrade because the RPG mod they use is not upgraded to phpBB3.

I was under the impression that the team would only do security updates for a month after EOL (for phpBB, not PHP) :?
