Blinky

Postby harmlessgoat22 » 04 Jun 2008, 00:12

I downloaded Blinky from http://code.phpbb.com/projects/show/6, and I can't figure out how to get it to work. I went to install/install_mod.php, but it just had a blank page. I added the ACP modules, nothing happened.

Please, a basic overview on use? Thanks.

Did you put all the files where they're supposed to go? You have to put everything from acp in root/acp, things from install in root/install, etc. Then go to yoursite.com/install just like when you first installed the forum and go to the blinky tab.

I copied all the files, but I didn't know I had to keep my original phpBB3 install folder. It is working now! Thanks :P

No problem.

Yeah it was very confusing at first.

where do I put the files to be copied? I figured out that I needed to put the installs in store/mods/ or whatever, but do I put the /root/ directory in there too?

Anybody encountered the bug in Blinky with Soft Delete?

Every Soft Delete MOD, I go to the install overview page and Blinky freaks out on me...

Note that there is no real support for blinky yet. I've personally never had problems installing the soft delete mod, but i don't know about the latest versions.

Is it possible that the soft delete MOD just doesn't follow the proper guidelines that are required for Blinky, and that it isn't Blinky's fault?

Probably right about the MODDB, but it should work on Blinky if it's in the MODDB, cause they test it on Blinky.

Do not forget that blinky is still in development and not excactly stable.

That's true, but is there anything special in the soft delete MOD's that is so much different than other MOD's that would make it screw up?

I'll see if it is something about debug being on, since it's that way by default in quickinstall. :geek:
